Welcome Back Choomba! In this weeks Cyberpunk 2077 News, I will be covering some interesting details on gameplay mechanics from Mike Pondsmith, Cyberpunk Red and its relationship to Cyberpunk 2077. I have a myriad of intriguing updates on Cyberpunk 2077 from the awesome CD Projekt Red community team. There was also a lot of commotion concerning Lady Gaga apparently taking over Cyberpunk 2077 at E3 2019 and even voicing one the main characters from Cyberpunk 2020, Alt Cunningham? Time for another Red Pill.
The Cyberpunk 2077 CD Projekt Red community team once again addressed several queries from fans which may be of interest. Following the success of the Gwent component in the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, naturally many Cyberpunk 2077 CD Projekt Red fans are hoping for some sort of equivalent of Gwent in Cyberpunk 2077. CD Projekt Red have not provided any details, stating they are currently focusing on the core gameplay mechanics, but importantly they did not deny that such a mini strategy game might currently be in the works. Previously there was a short-lived Cyberpunk 2020 collectible card game back in 2003, so the idea of a Cyberpunk 2077 equivalent is not entirely preposterous.
On the topic of Cyberpunk 2077 Night City districts, Pacifica CD Projekt Red described it as the most dangerous part of Night City. Abandoned and overwhelmed by the presence of various gangs, in many ways it should be considered separate from the rest of Night City.
In another case of déjà vu, fans continue to ask CD Projekt Red about a Cyberpunk 2077 photo mode option, which has now been confirmed multiple times to be present in the game.
Regarding the freedom a player will have to explore in Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red stated that after finishing a specific part, you will be able to roam through Night City as you please, just like in Witcher 3.
CD Projekt Red reiterated that the Cyberpunk 2077 demo which was released previously to the public was from a very early stage of development, so expect significant improvements in the final version of the game. While it was clearly stated that the Cyberpunk 2077 demo was subject to change, it seems not everyone is fully cognisant of that particular disclaimer.
Concerning the Cyberpunk 2077 experience system, alongside traditional methods of gaining experience, players can garner Street Cred by completing side missions and jobs in Night City. The players reputation can then be used to unlock new vendors and contacts throughout Night City.
Finally, on the question of a possible native 21:9 aspect ratio, Lilayah Cyberpunk 2077 Community Manager could not provide an exact response, but implied she would be upset if such a ratio was not supported.
